Law Firm Opens Drive-Thru Window 12

The Kocian Law Group, based in Connecticut, just made it a bit easier to file a lawsuit thanks to their new drive-thru window. From the article: "The Kocian Law Group opened for business this week inside a renovated building on Middle Turnpike West. You'd never know the building once housed a former Kenny Rogers Roasters, except for the drive-thru window on the side of it. And, the personal injury and malpractice specialists plan to put that drive-thru to good use. 'We have drive-thrus for ATMs and we have that customer convenience. Why not a law firm?' attorney Nick Kocian asked."

That's half of the problem with America - we want it fast and convenient. If the law firm makes money, fine. Personally, I'd rather a more private consultation with my lawyer. I certainly wouldn't want to discuss a criminal case so out in the open.

Why not? It's privileged. Is a neighbor going to walk by and overhear?

They don't do consultation through the window, just document pickup/dropoff.

  • I hate it when I get to the window and I don't have enough cash. Do you think there is a menu board for viewing available services?
    • I can imagine the fun.

      After several minutes...
[Client yelling into speaker]: NO! That's ONE divorce, hold the alimony, with a side of bankruptcy.
[Scratchy speaker voice]: Bzzzz one.. bzz ..ors.. bzz ..mon.. bzzz ...utcy, tha... bzzz drive throug... click.

Then you get to the front of line and find out that the time you've spent in line is, of course, billable.

When all I need is a notarization or a line-item update to my will, there's really no reason to have to get out of the car and go inside. Sign, stamp, and go. Brilliant.
